About the app

The Maximal Performance Bulk / Cut Calculator is a free tool that calculates your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), recommended daily calorie target, and macro split based on your body stats and goals. All calculations happen on your device — no account required, no data collected.

Frequently asked questions

How are my calories calculated?

The app uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation to calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), then multiplies it by your activity level to get your TDEE. From there it applies a calorie surplus for bulking or deficit for cutting based on your selected goal.

How is my macro split calculated?

Protein is set at 2.2g per kg of bodyweight (a standard target for muscle building and retention). Fats are set at 25% of total calories. The remaining calories are allocated to carbohydrates. You can use the results as a starting point and adjust based on how your body responds.

Does the app save my data?

All inputs are stored locally on your device only. The app does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is removed.

Do I need an account to use the app?

No account is required. Open the app, enter your details, and get your results immediately.

The app isn't opening or is crashing — what do I do?

Try closing the app fully and reopening it. If the issue continues, delete and reinstall the app from the App Store. If you're still having trouble, contact us at support@maximalperformance.nz with your device model and iOS version.

What devices does this app support?

The app requires iOS 16 or later and is compatible with iPhone and iPad.

Is the app really free?

Yes — the app is completely free with no subscription, no in-app purchases, and no ads.
